At the end of this course, participants will have a broad understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of occupational health and safety. They will also be able to work with OHS legislation and apply a concept of due diligence to enhance compliance with OHS responsibilities.
TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF AN OHS PROGRAM!
An OHS management system is never complete; it is a continuous process of meeting or exceeding employer and employee shared responsibilities, which must be integrated and understood throughout an organization. Unfortunately, many key people that are delegated responsibilities within a health and safety management system are not provided with the necessary training to enable them to participate effectively. The success of an OHS management system depends greatly on communicating, sharing information, and the overall understanding and implementation of good principles and concepts.

Format and Methodology
The course is designed to be delivered in a one-day format, and can be modified to meet
the specific objectives of the respective client and site. The course focuses significantly
on “hands-on” interactive methods; group work and discussion is encouraged.
Participants are provided with a workbook to minimize the need to take notes and to
maximize participation. The workbook also allows for better retention of knowledge and
can be used as individualized follow up reference material.
Participants will be requested to evaluate the workshop, and a course validation process has
been built into the participant workbook. |
